MADLIB Online
(c)1992 by Benjamin Kuo, Silver Yucca Software
==============================================================================
MADLIB Creation Instructions
To create a MADLIB for this external, all you need to do is create a plain TEXT
file in any program, and ask your sysop to install the Mad Lib.
A typical mad lib will have:
A few lines with the source and credits for the Mad Lib, ie.
MY MADLIB (c)1992 by MYSELF
Taken from "MY MADLIBS" published by MY COMPANY.
A line or two with the title of the madlib:
A SENSELESS MADLIB
PART I
And finally, the text of the madlib. When you want to ask the user for a word,
all you need to do is insert a dollar sign, the prompt, and another dollar sign:
Once upon a time, in a $an adjective$ country, $a distance$ away, there
$a verb$ a $an adjective$ $noun$.
In this example, the program would ask:
Please enter an adjective:
Please enter a distance:
Please enter a verb:
Please enter an adjective:
Please enter a noun:
And the program would display the results. The only things you need to remember
when creating a mad lib is to NEVER use a dollar sign in your story (use
"dollars"), and that the prompt in between the dollar signs is taken exactly
(appended to "Please enter"). Also, keep your prompts SHORT!
If you have any particularly good Mad Libs, please send them to B.KUO2 on GEnie,
and I'll include them in the next release of MADLIBS online.
Enjoy!
